April 5, 2016, Ms. Cathy Patterson, deputy director of Peel District School Board, which is responsible for international exchange in Peel District, Canada, came to Xindu. They received a warm reception, the two sides reached an agreement on establishing friendly schools, students exchange, enhancing teachers' professional skills, etc.

Ms. Liu Bin, director of Foreign Affairs Office of Xindu also came, expressed the hope for the two sides to enchance mutual understanding in education and then expand to cooperation in other areas.

Ms. Cathy Patterson visited Xindu No.1 Middle School, Xijie Elementary School and Shulong Middle School. Ms. Cathy Patterson spoke highly of level of internationalization of Xindu No.1 Middle School. She thought to take this as an example to promote international development of Peel education.

Ms. Cathy Patterson also went into a classroom of seniors  and showed great interest in Xindu No.1 Middle School's effort in cultivating teachers and teaching method informing.
